Q: I have some fields that I want to print the same on the front and
back of the card, but when I put data fields on the back, the software wants me to
re-enter the information when I go to create the card in the Data Entry Center! Is
there any way to save me from all this typing?
A: You can have data fields echo the data in other fields, and even combine
the values from several data fields in one. First, you need to create at least one
data field on the card that will have information entered in it. Then, to echo that
data in another place, create a new data field. When the New field
dialog is up, instead of selecting text or number in the Data Type
field, select Concatenate from the list. (At the bottom.) You will
then be prompted to associate an existing data field with this concatenated field.
Simply select the field you want from the left box, click on the associate
arrow (>>),
and the field will move to the right box. The data entered in the first field will now
also be entered into this field.
