Cleaning Kits for Systems
The Right Cleaning Kit for Your Printer
The most important thing that you can do to extend the life of your
ID card printer is to keep it clean. Dirt, dust, and debries can
effect the print quality of your cards and even damage parts like the
print head. Cleaning instructions are provided with each printer as
part of the User's Guide, or in a seperate fold-out. Please read
and follow the manufacturer recomended cleaning intervals to get the
most value from your printer.
Cleaning kits come with cleaning cards that either have a sticky
surface or are wrapped with an alcohol wetted cloth. These should
be run through the printer regularly (about every new ribbon). An
alcohol pen for (carefully!) cleaning the print head is also part of
the kit.
Other supplies can include a cloth wetted with alcohol for cleaning
the card path and exterior; cotton swabs for cleaning hard to reach
places; consumables such as new cleaning tapes; and other supplies.
Nearly all the kits come with a fresh set of cleaning instructions.
Instructions are also available for download from the manufacturer's
web site.
New cleaning kits are available from Oak Tree Data.
