The Right PVC Cards for Your System
The right card is a critcal part of any ID badge system. It is the end product
for all the other components, and the result everyone can see. To insure that
the card reflects your quality effort, we stock only quality cards here at
Oak Tree Data.
Cards are built of the same basic material: PVC plastic, the same type of
material modern plumbing is made of. The selection of the base PVC and how
the card is layered together is what makes photo ID cards perform as well (or
as poorly) as they do.
We sell two basic levels of cards; UltraCard© and UltraCard III©.
The difference
is in the construction of the card. Both types have a thin, clear layer of PVC
on the top and bottom of the card. When the card is printed, this layer is
heated along with the dye ribbon, and the dye is fused into this top
layer of the card.
It is in the construction of the core of the card where the difference lays.
The basic UltraCard© has a solid PVC core, while the
UltraCard III© uses a sandwhich of different platics to give it more
flexibilty and a longer life. Both types come with magnetic stripes (lo-co
or hi-co) and without stripes (no-co).
